I agree completely with the increase in women interested in collecting records. I worked at a record store in the US from 1986-2005, in this time, there were VERY few women regularly coming in. I would say, in the entire time I worked there. 99% of the customers were male. Now, when I go to a store, sometimes, there are more women than men. The first time I witnessed this. It was a shock, at the same time I thought, "FINALLY!" I agree too that this is fantastic, because it brings an entirely different customer to the records store. Women have a much more eclectic and artistic music interest than most men. But this is also changing, and most people listen to an eclectic range of music today. In the 80's people who listened to Metal, that was it. Pop, that's it. It was the New Wave and Punk people who were like people today. They were listening to everything. They experimented, and hunted down new music, because imports were hard to find, and expensive. So, we didn't get to order, or hear the music. At times, customers would let us know about new stuff. Also, magazines were't always the best source of information either. There were underground mags, but many were locally made. Like Maximum Rock and Roll from California. It was a huge mag filled with new punk, goth, experimental, and band listings, and ways to order directly from them. But the European magazines were too expensive as well, and we didn't order them very often either. One more thing, cost. We used to have $.10/10 for $1, and $1 records, these were the records that today, people are paying as much as $100 for one of those $.10. That's 10 pennies. Because they were scratched, the covers were worn and damaged. Once I got a MONO Piper at the Gates of Dawn for free because the cover was so bad. The record was almost perfect. I sold it to a friend for $20, because it was his dream record. You can look that up, it's worth a bit today, first pressing in mono. The past too, only 10 years ago, I found a MONO pressing of the DOORS first album at a Goodwill for $1.This will NEVER happen again, or now. Records, that are collectable, are almost impossible to find now, because there are too many collectors and too few records. Once at the store we had Elvis' first album. 78rpm, in the original wax paper sleeve, for $90. It sat for years and years, no one ever bought it the whole time we had it displayed. Record shows have completely changed too. But that's a whole different topic.

Michael, as a big fan of New Order/ “Blue Monday,” all I can tell you is I’m thrilled beyond belief that the late 90s synthpop/industrial act known as Orgy finally has their debut being pressed for the first time in history. I only found out today, it happened in February. I just have to wonder if you ever got into them??

I’m afraid Music From The Body is not a UK first pressing as you state. The first press had a flipback sleeve and no EMI above Harvest on the label. What you showed is an early 70s repress. At least the OCB shop has it listed correctly!

Wow, some heavy hitters today! I'm very lucky to have the Peace Orchestra in NM, and the follow up "Reset" remix album, definitely superb ones for the collection, that Peace Orchestra can be hard to find in really good condition, definitely one to get at the OBC if they get it in, often the plaster has come off the cover as well so keep an eye out for that if you're buying. I've been looking into some originals from the 3 Blind Mice label since I bought the triple box from Impex, as you say the recording quality is quite frankly some of the best I've ever heard. And Michael, I was very lucky to get that Air - Premiers Symptômes from the OBC shop, it's fantastic, thanks so much, shipped from Denmark I believe so please thank Thomas too!

Mike 45RPM - The origin or reason for Mike E's rant against ERC is not that his request to SELL their albums (and NOT to get free records for review as you speculate) got rejected, but the unacceptable quality of their product especially after charging $500 for a copy of an extremely limited run. That's it. No crusade, no jihad, no revenge video.... I'm sure the rejection he received was not the only one in his career or business. Some will agree and some will not. I love your channel, and the way you deliver the information, but on this one you are very wrong. Michael Fremer is a respectable, experienced and knowledgeable man, and I'm sure he's a sweet guy in real life, but he is also very wrong in his vitriolic and demented attacks on a man whom he calls "a fanboy", as he himself isn't on every single $20,000 stylus he peddles or creams about on his channels. The difference is that Mike Esposito is fighting for the music lover and collector and not the 1%ers with disposable cash in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Mike E's exposure of this worldwide fraud caused some unwanted ripples in the pockets of millions of consumers and the credibility of certain people with "golden ears" who have now come into question, among Mr. Fremer who does receive high end, high priced free product - some short term and must be returned, while others he can keep. He has given some bad reviews of Mofi releases, but then again, if the company withheld further free product from Mr. Fremer, they'd have no credible mouthpiece to promote it. ERC had no such obligation as their output was in limited numbers, but even then, an even on THIS CHANNEL, an album such as The Doors in Mono was praised as being "quality" while on the "In Groove" channel it was revealed as the piece of shit it really was. Aside from that, great work man!

Interesting... I have probably a first German pressing, because I bought it for 13,90 DM at Karstadt Hören & Lesen in Essen the week it came out. Apart from the fascinating transparent acoustic guitar sound, this early digital recording seems to have no bass. It is one of these typical thin pressings Polygram produced in Germany in the 80ies, this increased the lack of punch and warmth. I would like to know, how the Original Master Recording by MFSL sounds in comparison? CD versions sound very similiar to the old LPs, transparent, but thin sound. I love "Private Investigations"! Better bass and dynamics came with the next Album "Brothers in Arms".

Hallo Michael, I have one question. Could you make a video also in your German chanel about Japanese pressings? When I started buying LPs in the 80ies, I was always fascinated by the sound of Japanese pressings, I could buy in Germany. In comparison with the thin German pressings or with origin from central and northern european countries, I was always fascinated by the full dynamic HiFi-sound of LPs from Japanese manufacturing plants. Not only MFSL pressings from JVC! I was in most cases shocked, what poor quality you could hear from any German pressing. They generally definitely have no bass, no punch and tend to distortions. On the heavy US pressings and on pressings from for example Italy or Portugal, you could get the full analog sonic sound, I like so much. I wonder, how much you can recommend German (first) pressings, I probably have bought in the 80ies many first pressings by chance, but I could not hear real Hifi sound. When I had a Japanese pressing on my record player, I discovered how good the recording could sound. Full dynamic stereo with deep bass and punch. In comparison to this an ordinary "German quality pressing" was like a bootleg. Just an example: James Bond soundtracks on the United Artists label, pressed by King Records in Japan, that offers real dynamic and sound stage. The same titles on EMI Electrola from Cologne. Horrible! There is no punch, everything seems to be reproduced in a bonsai style. Blue Note Records pressings from Japan. Same experience. Sometimes I can read by younger persons, that Japanese pressings have a brilliant but thin sound. I always made the opposite experience. What do you think about this topic? Gruß Martin

I can only dream going to record fairs in Germany there massive some of dem I couldn't imagine what would be there but sadly with all fairs and shops around world the prices are shocking and are killing the hobby We have theses sad little record fairs in Australia and the prices on all re issues are mind blowing and what I enjoy collecting don't exist at fairs it's almost like they know what I like and don't sell them Sad really lucky I can buy from discogs or ebay or I would have nothing as what I buy on there I've never ever seen for sale in Australia
